Last November 30, 2021, Mr. Chanthanom Phommany, the Executive Chairman of the Board of Chaleun sekong Energy Co., Ltd.  together with the Board of LDB Visit the progress of Nam Emoun Hydropower Project Led by Mr. Sitthisone Thepphasy Chairman of the Board of LDB when to visit and follow the progress of the construction of Nam Emoun Hydropower Project. Welcomed by the teams of Nam Emoun, during this visit, the President and the board of LDB listened to a report from Mr. Peechar Kanthamoon. Vice President and Director of Project Construction and Development and Production Maintenance, Regarding the progress of the construction of Nam Emoun: From the beginning of construction in early 2019 until now, the Nam Emoun project has progressed and completed 83% on average.

Nam Emoun Hydropower Project is located in Dak Chom Village, Dak Cheung District, Sekong Province. Nam Emoun Hydropower Project is a project invested and owned by Chaluen Sekong Energy Co., Ltd. 100%, A project related to the promotion of domestic energy, be socially and environmentally responsible, help improve the living conditions of the communities in the vicinity of the project area, it also meets the needs of domestic consumers and exports electricity to Vietnam. After the signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA) on 04/01/2021 and the scheduled sale of electricity in July 2022. Nam Emoun Dam is a flow-through dam, a concrete gravity dam with a total installed capacity of 133 MW, with a total construction cost of US $ 235 million.

It covers an area of 462 square kilometers, with an average water volume of over 654 million cubic meters, consisting of two dams: the Nam Emoun Dam and Diversion Dam Huay Het

Both rivers are tributaries of the Sekong River flowing from east to west before flowing into the Mekong, and there are above-ground powerhouses equipped with two vertical turbines, 65.5 MW each

The 20 km tunnel, 4.5 m x 5.5 m, D section tunnel, can produce an average of 460.59 GWh per year. According to the plan, the construction of Nam Emoun Dam will be completed in July 2022 It is ready to supply 220 kilowatts of electricity from the station with a length of 51 km to the Lao-Vietnam border to Dak Ta Ork station, where all of the power generated will be sold to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

After that, Mr. president and the Board of LDB visited the Main Dam of Nam Emoun, Diversion Dam Huay Het, the tunnel, and the powerhouse.
