On 12 July 2020, the compensation ceremony was held at Nam Emoun Hydropower Project Office in Dakcheung District, Sekong Province to compensate villagers affected by the project, honored to attend the ceremony by Mr. Leklai SIVILAY, the Deputy Governor of Sekong Province, Mr. Chanthanome PHOMMANY, the President of the Chaleun Sekong Energy Co., Ltd, The Governor of Dakcheung District, the Governor of Lamam District, the Director of Forestry Department of the province, Chiefs of villages together with the Project Manager, project staff and invited guests. The compensation of 400,629,350 Kip (four hundred million, six hundred and twenty-nine thousand, two hundred and fifty Kip) was paid to the villagers affected by the project including 27 households in Trangbong Village, 7 households in Chaling Village, 57 households in Dakchom Village and 1 cemetery.
