On February 17, 2023, the Department of Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and Chaleun Sekong Energy Company Limited (CSE) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Lao Plaza hotel on the topic of “Cooperation in the development of a project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+)“, to have a feasibility study on developing the project to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was represented by Mr.  Susath SAYAKOUMMANE, General Director of Department of Forestry, and CSE was represented by Mr. Litsamy LATSAVONG, Vice President of CSE, along with the two parties as witnesses.

            Furthermore, CSE is one of the developers of clean energy hydropower and solar energy projects. Together with the development of various projects, CSE considers the effects of global warming and does not pollute the environment by adhering to the comprehensive concession agreement to ensure the sustainability of the nation’s forest resources and other resources.

            As a result, this MOU signing is a step toward promoting initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which will assist to lessen the effects of global warming and pollution from various projects.
